The 4th international short film festival Baiqonyr will present the best films of the II international film festival of student cinema Ushqyn in the non-competitive programme.
Guests of the festival will appreciate the four short films that received awards at The Ushqyn student film festival held in the capital.
“8” - winner in the “Best Director” nomination, Director-Gabriel Fabbro. In the story, a selfish and sexist pool player who is in a hurry to live tries to seduce a quiet female master at Billiards in an isolated salon in New Mexico.
“Chief of the cemetery” is the winner of the “Best film” prize, according to the student jury. Directed by Ilya Weizman. This film tells about the Director of a Jewish cemetery, who in his spare time comes up with jokes, conducts tours and writes a book.
“There is nothing to do in Paradise” - winner of the prize from Vosmerka.kz, directed by Pavel Pantin. For Yana's dad is the best in the land. When he dies, only she misses him. She believes that her father will go to heaven. But maybe not everyone has a place in Paradise?
“Tango of Longing” is the work of Marta Tsimanski, a participant in the Ushqyn Film Festival. The story is about the nature of tango, which is not only passion and eroticism, but also a sad dance with hints of melancholy and a constant longing for dissatisfaction that can never be filled.
Baiqonyr International Short Film Festival will be held from September 4 to 8 at Kinoplexx Sary Arka. The festival is supported by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy. The general partner is Kinoplexx Theaters. The initiator is the Broadway movie portal.
Let us recall that within the framework of IV Baiqonyr ISFF, the premiere screening of short films shot at the “Debut” Creative Production Association at the Kazakhfilm film studio will also take place.
