We continue to acquaint you with the members of the jury of the II Baiqonyr Republican Film Festival, which will be held from September 15 to 16 in Kok-Tobe park. Today we will talk about film critic Galiya Baizhanova and People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulnara Dusmatova.
The II Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival is held with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.
Galiya Baizhanova, a graduate of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University wrote articles for publications such as Expert Kazakhstan, Express K, and Capital. This year, she became a member of the Film Critics Association of Kazakhstan, created as an independent association of leading experts in the field of film criticism and film journalism in the country. Since 2015, Galiya has been working as a columnist for the information and analytical Internet portal Informburo.kz.
Gulnara Dusmatova’s meteoric career started in the late 70s after she played the main female role in the adventure film “Chase in the Steppe” by Abdulla Karsakbayev. Recognizing the talent of the young actress, the directors began to actively invite her to star in their projects. During her creative career, she brilliantly played in more than 30 feature films. Along with filming, Gulnara Abdullaнevna also worked as an announcer, took part in various television projects and, in addition, successfully performed at numerous music festivals and concerts. For the mass audience, the actress is better known for her roles in the first Kazakhstani television series “Cross-road” and “Locust”.
