Within the framework of the Baiqonyr -2017 Film Festival, a meeting will be held with Orazkhan Jakup
On September 16 at 19:00 at the II Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival there will be a meeting with the head of art studio Khan Comics, publisher of Kazakh comic books, artist Orazkhan Jakup.
The II Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival is held with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.
The Khan Comics project was founded in 2010 by Orazkhan and his wife Adilya Smagulova. A year later, their first comic book, Kz-coMIX, was released. To date, the studio produces about 20 collections, among them the most famous are “Tales”, “Steppe”, “Erketay” and “Orda”.

“Over the years of its existence, our studio has created about 25 own editions of comics and more than 50 commercial, custom collections. The topic of the upcoming meeting is “Superheroes of Kazakhstan. Who are they?". We will talk with guests and participants of Baiqonyr about the relevance of the images of domestic heroes and how compatible they are with the demand of a modern Kazakhstani audience,” explained Orazkhan Zhakup.
The event will be held in the recreation park of Kok-Tobe. During the meeting, those who wish can familiarize themselves with Kazakhstan comics and share their impressions.
