The IV Baiqonyr International Short Film Festival starts accepting applications
The IV Baiqonyr International Short Film Festival starts accepting applications for participation in the festival. Registration of participants will last until August 15, 2019. The event itself will be held from September 4 to 8, 2019 in the Kinoplexx Sary Arka cinema with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.
The general partner of IV Baiqonyr International Short Film Festival is Kinoplexx Theaters, the golden partner of the event is Visit Almaty, the partner in mail services is Kazpost. The organizer is the Broadway movie portal.
Short live-action, documentary and animated films of any genre shot in 2018-2019 by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan are invited to participate in the national contest. The duration of the films should not exceed 30 minutes. Applications sent later than the deadline are also not allowed until the selection committee. Works submitted and participating in the III Baiqonyr SFF will not be accepted. Films submitted for participation should not be freely available on social networks. The copyright of the music used must be reserved. In the case of selecting a film for the festival, subtitles must be provided: if the film is voiced in Kazakh, then Russian subtitles, if the film is shot in Russian, then the subtitles are written in Kazakh.
The short film of any genre shot in 2018 and 2019 by citizens of the CIS countries can participate in the international contest. The duration of the films should not exceed 30 minutes. Applications sent later than the deadline are also not allowed until the selection committee. The claimed films should not be freely available on social networks. Films shot in a foreign language must be accompanied by Russian subtitles.
The list of participants after the decision of the selection committee will be published on the festival website.
The jury of the national contest programme will determine the winners in the following nominations: “The Grand Prix”, “Best Director”, “Best Cinema operator”, “Best Production Designer”, “Best Script”, “Best Sound”, “Best Experimental Film”, “Best Documentary film”, “Best Animated Film”, “Best Actor”, “Best Actress”, “Broadway Choice”.
Participants in the international competition will compete in the following categories: “The Grand Prix”, “Best Director”, “Best Cinema operator”, “Best Script”, “Best Actor”, “Best Actress”.
Applications for participation in the Baiqonyr ISFF are accepted on the official website of the film festival (baiqonyr.brod.kz).
