“The last teacher” by Alena Rakhmetaliyeva awarded at Dostluk Kısa Film Festival

The international short film festival Dostluk Kısa Film Festival was held for the first time in Istanbul, Turkey, from December 14 to 16. A film from Kazakhstan, “The Last teacher” by Alena Rakhmetaliyeva  took second place.

The plot of the short film, based on a real story, tells about a school teacher who for a long time has conflicts with students.

According to the organizers of the film festival, about 800 works from 80 countries were submitted for the competition.

The participants’ works were evaluated by a jury consisting of Directors Yuksel Aksu, Tevfik Basher, Kamal Tabrizi, scriptwriter Najwa Najar and actress Sezin Akbashogullary.

The first place in the competition went to the film “The sea swells” by Iranian Director Amir Golami. The third award was taken by the film Hedieh also directed by Sahar Sotoodeh from Iran.

Let us recall that in October of this year, “The Last Teacher” was presented at the Didor IFF. The film also participated in the III Baiqonyr Short Film Festival
