On September 15 and 16, the II Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival was held in the recreation Park of Kok-Tobe with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy. Over the course of two days, 35 films of the competition programme and 3 films of non-competition programme were shown, as well as the 10 best works of “Make a film in 48 hours” project.

The winners of 12 nominations were determined by a jury, which included film expert Anara Kashaganova, production designer Umirzak Shmanov, film critic Galiya Baizhanova, director Sharipa Urazbayeva, producer Elya Gilman, actress Gulnara Dusmatova and director Zhanabek Zhetiruov. The chairman of the expert commission was the director, scriptwriter and producer Akhat Ibrayev.

• “Best Actor” - “Friends”, Yerbolat Yerzhanov;
• “Best Actress” - “Abysm”, Perizat Madenova;
• “Special Jury Prize” - “The incident in Malybai”, Samgar Rakim;
• “Broadway Choice” - “Once in a Small City”, Asylkhan Shakenov; “I believe in you,” Aisha Shaimerdenova.

In addition to the main awards, the New York Film Academy awarded the director of “Madi” film, Bigeldi Abdibek, a certificate for attending master classes in directing, which will be held in October in Almaty.

All winners also received gifts from the partner of the II Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival “Meloman” company - certificates for 20 thousand tenge.
