Winners of the I Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival
On September 17 and 18, the I Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival was held in Kok-Tobe Park (marquee) (Baikonur.brod.kz).
During two days of the screening, 38 films of the competition programme and 7 films out of the competition were demonstrated.
The works were evaluated by professionals of cinematography Director Rashid Nugmanov, film expert Gulnara Abikeyeva, film distributor Sabina Kuzenbayeva, Director of Eurasia Spotlight Ilyas Akhmet, animator Gali Myrzashev.
The winners of 10 nominations were determined at the closing ceremony of the film festival.
“The Grand Prix” - “Potato Eaters” (“Едоки картофеля”), directed by Sharipa Urazbayeva.
“Best Director” - “Route” (“Маршрут”), directed by Darkhan Tulegenov.
“Best Script” - “Clap Top”, directors Aldiyar Bayrakimov, Venera Kairzhanova, scriptwriter Roman Zhukov.
“Best Camera Operator” - “Bus stop” (“Аялдама/Остановка”), director Dias Kulmakov, camera operator Kuanysh Kurmanbayev.
“Best Actor” - “Male” (“Еркек/Мужчина”), director Berik Zhakhanov, actor Nurgali Nugman.
“Best Actress” - “Father” (“Әке/Папа”), director Fariza Tanayeva, actress Nursaya Kabdysalam.
“Best Experimental Film” - “Commandant Ilmenau” (“Комендант Ильменау”), directed by Sanat Shakiyeva.
“Best animated film” - “You are the most beautiful” (“Бәрінен де сен сұлу/Ты самая красивая”) , director Marzhan Zhunisbek.
“Best Documentary film” - “Life in the village (“Ауыл тынысы/Жизнь в селе”), directed by Kymbat Toishy.
“Broadway Choice” – “Knock Louder!” (“Стучите громче!”), director Malik Zenger.
The partner of the festival, Esquire men's magazine, awarded the film “Insight” (“Прозрение”) by Arnas Khabi with an honorary diploma.
Almagul Tleukhanova, General Director and producer of Alma pictures, also awarded two prizes to the participants of the film festival.
The main character of the movie “Male” Nurgali Nugman will land a role in the new project of the film company. The author of the script “Turn to 306” Aydos Nurbulatov got the opportunity to make a feature film or series according to his script.
