Baiqonyr Short Film Fest winner Baimurat Zhumanov shoots a new film
Kazakh Director and actor Baimurat Zhumanov has started shooting a new short film under the working title “Drawings on Wallpaper”. The Director's first film “Tough cookie” won the Grand Prix at the Baiqonyr Short Film Festival-2017
The short film “Drawings on Wallpaper” tells the story of an artist trying to find his place in modern society. However, his attempts to find understanding lead to new frustrations. But, despite the difficulties encountered by the hero, the story promises to be bright and quite optimistic.
Director of photography Kuanysh Makatov and actors Maxim Bogomolov, Karim Kadyrbayev and Ksenia Chernykh are involved in the shooting of the film.
Baimurat Zhumanov's filmography includes many roles in short and feature films, including “The bailiff” by Murat Makhan, “The Plague in Karatas village” by Adilkhan Yerzhanov and “he Dirt of the big city” by Nariman Turebayev. Zhumanov made his first step in directing in 2016, receiving a grant in the Debut Creative and Production Association at Kazakhfilm for the shooting of the short film “Tough cookie”.
