At the II Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival Karlygash Mukhamedzhanovara told her success story and answered the questions from guests. Moreover, at the meeting, Karlygash Mukhamedzhanova shared her experience of studying at the New York Film Academy, plans for the future, the dream of becoming a dubbing actress and confessed her love to European cinema.
“I grew up in a creative family and wanted to connect myself to creativity in the future. As a child I dreamed of becoming a ballerina, I even had some abilities. The thought of an actress 's career came to me at a more mature age. My parents were against the choice, but after I was recognized on the street, my parents accepted. I do not like any actor to have a certain image, which then remains. As for me, I like to embody different images. It would be very interesting to play a villain, because playing an antagonist is much more difficult than a positive character,”- the actress shared.
Karlygash Mukhamezhanova is also a graduate of the New York Academy of Film Art. The girl admits that during the training she received enormous experience and unforgettable impressions.
“The main problem of Kazakh cinema is the shortage of good scripts. If I’m given a great script, I’m going to get started with full enthusiasm. That’s probably why I very rarely appear on screens, I’m not clung to stories. In Kazakhstan actors wait more than shoot, unlike Russian colleagues, who have one shooting per month, it is possible to conclude: we have very low competition,” - said Mukhamedzhanova.
During her career as an actress, the girl managed to appear in a number of domestic films, including the crime drama “The Tale of the Pink Hare”, the comedy “Kelinka Sabina 2”, the historical series “Kazakh khanate: Diamond sword” and the film “My Heart is Astana”.
“I love the atmosphere of European cinema and I dream to star in a film by a European Director. From foreign actors and Actresses, I would like to work with Marion Cotillard, Meryl Streep and Benedict Cumberbatch. I want to take part in dubbing a foreign cartoon, I think it will be an interesting experience, because I love animation,” the actress said.
Now the actress is preparing for the filming of the second season of “Kazakh Khanate: The Golden Throne” series.
