Dear friends, we are launching the official website of the I Baiqonyr Republican Short Film Festival.
The festival will take place on the central site of Kok-Tobe and will allow filmmakers to encounter with the young generation of filmmakers of Kazakhstan and will become a launching pad for participants.
The programme of the event will include short films from Kazakhstan or shot by compatriots abroad.
Documentary, animation, and feature films made in 2015 and 2016 by directors under the age of 29 are accepted for participation in the contest section.
The award will be held in the following nominations:
“The Grand Prix”
“Best film”
“Best Director”
“Best Camera Operator”
“Best script”
“Best experimental film”
“Best documentary film”
“Best animated film”
“Broadway Choice”
“Special Prize”
The jury will include figures of art and culture, directors, critics and other representatives of the film industry of Kazakhstan.
Short documentary, live-action, animated films of the established directors are accepted into the out-of-competition programme.
Online applications for participation in the competition programme will be open soon.
The initiator of the Baiqonyr Festival is the Broadway movie portal.
