Contest for creating a brand statuette for the I Baiqonyr Short Film Republican Festival

Broadway Cinema Portal (www.brod.kz) invites sculptors to participate in the contest to design a branded statuette for the I Baiqonyr Short Film Republican Festival.

Prize fund: 100,000 tenge

Technical specifications:

1) Technical specifications of the submitted competition works:

     a) the size of the art object - not more than 30 cm on the larger side;

2) An author (a group of co-authors) can submit any number of art objects, but each art object will be evaluated as an independent work;

3) Competition works design:

a) All works must be provided with a label-description (label 7x3 cm., In the lower right corner, on the front side). The label includes: a) Author’s (co-authors’) full name b) city c) title d) creation technique e) size g) year of creation.

Requirements for Participants:

Age of participants - from 16 to 30 years;

The applicant must be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Documents required for registration:

The author should send the following documents to the organizing committee:

1.     Application form (download application form)

2.     Participation agreement (download agreement)

3.     Label (for each art object or series)

4.     Competitive art objects’ photos

5.     Author’s photo.

All registration materials should be sent to the following address (Almaty, 52b Abay Ave., building 1, office 400/2, index 050008)

After receiving the registration documents by the Organizing Committee, the author receives by e-mail a confirmation of participation and a registration number (together with a label), which full-time applicants print and place in the lower right corner of the art object.

Note: confirmation of participation is a mandatory fact. If for some reason the author has not received confirmation within 24 hours, he must urgently contact the Organizing Committee and clarify the processing status of application for participation (Organizing Committee contacts: 8 (707) 777-17-71, 8 (727) 330-90- 33).

Evaluation Criteria: Contest works are evaluated by the Broadway editors.The contest results will be announced on May 10, 2016 on the Broadway website (www.brod.kz)

Brief information about the I Baiqonyr Short Film Republican Festival:

Baiqonyr Short Film Republican Festival is a unique cultural event, which has no analogues in Kazakhstan yet. This is not just encounter with the works of young filmmakers of Kazakhstan, “Baiqonyr” is intended to become a launching pad for the creative “take-off” of participants and the discovery of new names. The programme and date of the festival will be announced later on the Broadway website.
